2005 545i Ipod integration

Does anyone know how to install the dealer's Alpine Ipod integration Kit? This kit allows you to use your idrive to shuffle through you playlist, artist, songs, etc. I am also open to other suggetsions for the Ipod hook up.

I believe they have to install the kit because the radio needs to be reprogram
also they will remove the 6 disc cd changer

I looked into this too for my 2005 525i but was told it couldn't be upgraded so I found a FM transmitter that I plug into my ipod and it plays through the stereo system in the car.
I would like to know if you find out how to add the integration kit.
