I hate that chime that cranks every time you start the car and also when the key is out and the lights are on, seatbelt is not fastened... Anyway, the dealer tells me that it is not adjustable. I would love to reduce the volume or remove some of the "DING!!!" sounds. Any helpful ideas or success stories. I just think that for the price, you should be able to do a couple of these little detail things.
Thanks!!

First of all, I do not have this car, I have an M3, but I feel your pain with regard to the seatbelt chime, or as BMW calls it an acoustic sound. If you don't want to use your belt, you don't need your car to tell you to.

I don't think too many people have this car yet, but it must be a monster.

So I tried Emailing BMW:

Dear Mr. XXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding your 2005 645Ci.
We appreciate your inquiry.

Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the volume of the chime. It is there
as a safety warning and must stay at that level. I apologize for any
frustration or inconvenience this may cause.

If you have any further questions, please respond to this e-mail or contact the
Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through
Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for
contacting BMW.

Sincerely,

I feel so... SAFE!

But I would be much happier with no chime and a DVD player that worked. Most folks who can afford this car are probably with it enough to determine their own needs for safety.

Thank you US legal system.
